Delete your account
You can delete your IELTS Level Up account and its data at any time. This page explains how, what happens next, and what is removed.
1. From inside the app or website
- Sign in to your account.
- Open Profile, then the Settings tab.
- Scroll to Delete account and confirm.
Your account is then scheduled for deletion with a 15-day grace period. Signing in again during those 15 days cancels the request automatically. After the grace period the account and the data listed below are permanently removed.
2. If you can no longer sign in
Send a deletion request through the contact form from the email address registered on the account, with the subject “Delete my account”. We will verify that the address matches the account and then schedule the same 15-day deletion. Requests from a different address cannot be honoured, because we cannot confirm they come from you.
3. What is deleted
- Your profile (name, username, email, country, study preferences)
- Your practice history: every reading, listening, writing and speaking attempt, answers and band estimates
- Learn progress, streaks and achievements
- Mistake notebook entries and analytics derived from your attempts
- Device tokens used for push notifications
- Any pending organisation invitations addressed to you
4. What may be kept
- Payment and invoice records we are legally required to keep, for the statutory retention period
- Aggregated, anonymised statistics that can no longer be linked to you
- Assessments an instructor at an institute has already completed on your submissions may be kept by that institute under its own agreement with you
Details of retention periods are in section 6 of the privacy policy.
5. Uninstalling the app is not the same
Removing the Android app from your phone does not delete your account or your data. Use one of the two methods above.
